The 5 Basic Rules Of Applying Lip Makeup
Here are some basic makeup tips for your lips that will never fail.
5 Basic Lip Makeup Tips:
1. Moisturizing Lip: It has been clinically proven that the skin on your lips is 5 times more tender than the skin on your face. If you are going to pile up lipstick on cracked or dry lips it is will still look cracked and dull. Often lipsticks are dry and look caked on dry lips. Apply a lip balm that has natural extracts like jojoba oil or fruits that will hydrate the skin of your lips. If you do not have a lip balm then lick your lips a few times.
2. Lip Liners: A lip liner is a must even if you are doing basic makeup. It does not make sense to apply colour on your lips when you are not going to use a liner to keep it in shape. The main job of a liner is to give shape to your lips and keep the colour within the contours. It is the lip liner that will make your lips fuller or narrower depending on how your draw with it.
3. Lip Colour Shade: When you are apply colour on your lips make sure it either matches the shade of the liner perfectly so that you get a sobre look or else, you will have to chose a shade lighter to give yourself that artificial pout. Never use lipstick that is darker than the liner because it looks nothing short of hideous.
4. The 'O': You need to apply the colour evenly on your lips. Make an 'o' shape with your lips and apply colour on the sides of your lips. Smack your lips after you finish to even out the shade. There is nothing worse than patchy lipstick.
5. Coats Of Lip Stick: If you are going for basic makeup, you still need at least 2 coats of the lip colour. It would eventually depend on the type of lip colour you are using. If it is liquid then you may do with just one coat but for solid lipsticks at least two layers are required no matter how dark the shade. If you don't want that much colour it is best to use tinted lip gloss.
